In an effort to make our worship services easy for anyone to follow, everything needed for the worship service is included in the worship bulletin, from lessons to hymns. (You will not have to juggle multiple books in order to participate).
St Michael’s follows the traditional liturgy of the Christian Church – a liturgy that is grounded in Holy Scripture and has been practiced throughout the centuries. St Michael’s uses the Common Lectionary of Readings for its services that are used throughout the Christian Church. With the aid of our pipe organ the Service offers a rich opportunity to worship God in the traditional ways the Church has worshiped.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday and all those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and acknowledge the true Body and Blood of Christ in the sacrament for the forgiveness of sins are invited to attend. For this is the LORD’S TABLE. We invite all those who wish to receive Christ to come to the Table. You may partake of the common cup or an individual cup. Grape juice is available in the middle of the individual trays for those who can not have wine. You are asked to hold out your hand to receive the host.
Please see Pastor Bob if you wish your younger children to partake of Communion. Those wishing to come up to the altar during Holy Communion for a blessing are urged to do so. Parents please bring your children up to the altar for a blessing.
If you have physical limitations that prevent you from ascending the steps to the communion rail, let the ushers know, and communion can be brought to you.
Our children’s Sunday School takes place during the middle portion of the worship service. Children from ages 3 to 12 are welcome to attend. At the appropriate time, the Sunday School teacher will lead the children to a nearby classroom. Each Sunday focuses on a different Bible story. When Sunday School is over the Sunday School teacher for that day will lead the children back to the sanctuary and make sure that the children find their way to their parents.
Our nursery is located down the hall beyond the men’s and women’s restrooms. The nursery contains a rocking chair, a Pack N’ Play, various toys and a changing area. (Please note that there is also a changing station in the handicap accessible restroom located off of the Fellowship Hall).
Assisted Listening Devices & Large Print Bulletins
If you or a companion are hearing impaired, St. Michael’s has personal wireless earphones for your use. Large print worship bulletins are also available. These are available on request from the Ushers.
The church has multiple handicap accessible access points leading towards the main entrance. Two rows of pews have been modified to include access for wheel chairs. There is a wheel-chair accessible restroom located off of the Fellowship Hall.
You are invited to join us for our coffee hour! Coffee hour takes place in the Fellowship Hall right after our worship service.
Coffee Hour is hosted by members of our congregation. It typically includes coffee, tea and juice along with a variety of snacks ranging from cookies, pastries and fruits to cheese and crackers. Come and join in the vibrant conversations and in the joy of fellowship!
